4 SIMPLE SAFETY SIGNALS FOR HIAB CRANE OPERATORS
Safety signals for HIAB crane operators are pretty simple but may not always be used clearly. Everyone can use a refresher guide, right? This simple guide found on HIAB’s video clip to four basic crane hand signals will help you stay safe and communicate clearly.
LIFT
Raise your arm, close your hand and extend your index finger. Make a circular motion with your hand.
LOWER
Point your arm down. Extend your index finger and move your arm in a circular motion.
STOP
Raise your arm to shoulder height. Bend your elbow, raise your open hand with your palm out, and hold it still. Use this signal to stop all crane movement and hold the load in position.
EMERGENCY STOP
Raise both arms to shoulder level. Bend your elbows
and raise your hands with palms facing out.
Get your hands out. Stay safe. And refer back to our blog or your HIAB crane operators’ manual for all the details.
