A ROBOT CRANE FOR PROPANE? IF YOU SAY SO!

We were pleasantly surprised and also had a good laugh at this video of a US Tank Carrier hyping HIAB truck cranes with SAF as “robot cranes.” Actually, they’re HIAB knuckleboom cranes configured with Semi-Automatic Folding (SAF), an available feature that’s really handy when delivering propane.

Many LP Gas crane operators choose SAF to help fold and unfold their HIAB. They like its ease of use (a single lever on the remote control), safety and increased productivity. SAF helps protect the crane, cab load and surroundings. A single lever on the remote control makes it fast and easy.

HIAB truck cranes like the X-HiDUO 072, 082 and 158 with SAF are popular with LP Gas companies. They set tanks quickly and precisely, making multiple deliveries faster and easier. One operator can promptly and efficiently handle a 3,785-litre (1,000-gallon) tank at distances of more than nine metres.

These models feature many other unique and innovative features to improve propane deliveries. Automatic Duty Control (ADC) and Automatic Speed Control (ASC) work with the HiDUO control system to automatically boost capacity up to 10% when needed. XSDrive™ remote control puts up to 24 functions at your command (many simultaneous), with accurate placement from the optimal vantage Point. Their B-link boom system is fast, perfect for lift and load jobs and never needs greasing. Load-holding valves on all boom cylinders and stabilizer legs increase safety and an optional Load Stability System (LSS-V or LSS-H) ups it even more. LSS further protects you and your equipment by preventing excessive lever actions. Plus, with optional accessories, you can customize your HIAB to work harder for you.

A robot? Maybe. HIAB Semi-Automatic Folding is as precise and automatic as one, and the operator is always in control.
