HIAB ELIMINATES THE NEED FOR PRE-SLINGING PIPES

HIAB consistently develops specialized crane solutions for specialized industry challenges. The latest innovation is a pair of customized HiDUO 418-EP5 truck cranes for Selwood Pump Rental Solutions.

The powerful HiDUO cranes are fitted with a Groenevelt 811-2000 tube grapple ‘pipe grab’ with hydraulic rotator, boom storage and lifting eyes that significantly reduce labour and safety risks for teams loading pipework onto trucks and offloading at the back of vehicles on delivery. With a 2220 kg capacity at 15 metres reach, they effectively lift Selwood’s heaviest pipes. Over-cab protection prevents the boom from any accidental contact with the cab.

The purpose-built HIAB cranes mount to new Mercedes Actros 3351 LS 6×4 GigaSpace 5 Tractor units – as specialized as the HIABs and the only ones in the country. The GigaSpace cab has room for the operator to stand and includes a bed, refrigerator, microwave, and even a television!

They also feature various safety features, including an ABA5 autonomous braking system, lane-keeping, attention, and traffic sign assist, a MOIS camera alert system, and multi-camera CCTV to help eliminate blind spots.
